Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Manager, Merchandising partners with the DMM in developing a line plan aligned with seasonal merchandise strategies and acts as a liaison to the field on any questions relating to product or pricing. Responsible for analyzing in-season business by tracking and reviewing sales information in order to identify opportunities to increase sales, improve margins, maximize inventories and decrease markdowns. The Manager, Merchandising develops and implements product knowledge tools for the stores.

Overview of Critical Duties:

  • Actively participate in determining and directing the strategic focus of the product area by identifying growth, maintain and down trending businesses
  • Research and analyze historical performance and current business data to identify opportunities that challenge future season line planning
  • Collaborate with DMM and Vice President, Armani Outlets to develop brand appropriate seasonal assortments for each location
  • Manage all buys from point of entry to delivery of goods
  • Actively manage and merchandise product for new store openings to ensure organized, effective and timely delivery of product set up
  • Analyze departmental/class/style selling and product inventory by door performance and identify opportunities to respond to in season performance
  • Maintain close relationships with General Managers and store teams to allow effective and timely communication
  • Facilitate the allocation of all end of season product from full price boutiques in partnership with Divisional Vice Presidents
  • Assist in the building, running, and distribution of daily and weekly reports
  • Ensure data integrity through the accurate creation of all new items and purchase orders
  • Create and implement effective product knowledge through the division inclusive of product knowledge tools and seminars
  • Work with visual partners to implement floor moves to drive sales based on product assortment
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the retail industry through store visits and competitive analysis

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:

  • Computer proficiency (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • College degree preferred
  • At least 2 - 4 years of experience in the field
